John Winton, the well known painter of this city, died Monday morning at the hospital for the insane at Indianapolis, where he had been confined for several months. The body was brought here for interment Tuesday. The deceased had been in feeble health for some time and previous to his confinement at Indianapolis he had made his home with his sister, Mrs. James B. Gilliland, southwest of the city, where the funeral services were held Wednesday. -s
