Miss Julia Eleanor Wilson, 70, a teacher in the Crawfordsville School System for 14 years on the junior high level, died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday in the Frankfort Hospital. She was residing in Wesley Manor at Frankfort. Prior to that she had lived here at 1411 W. Wabash Ave. Miss Wilson was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was organist for 18 years. She was a member of the Wingate - Waynetown Chapter of Order of Eastern Star, Delta Kappa Gamma Society and the National Retired Teacher’s Association. She was a graduate of Newtown High School and Indiana State University. She studied at Purdue University and the Arthur Jordan Conservatory of Music at Indianapolis. Miss Wilson began her teaching career at Wingate and then taught in Tippecanoe County before coming to Crawfordsville. She was born Feb. 24, 1903, at Clarks Hill, a daughter of John E. and Leah Anna Nicklin Wilson. Survivors include a brother, Edgar E. of Wingate; a sister, Miss Flora Wilson of Wesley Manor at Frankfort; 12 nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews, and many great-great nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Little and the Rev. Alan Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Tippecanoe County. Friends may call at he funeral home from 2 to 5 and 6 to 9 Friday. – jlr
