Mrs. George R. Brown yesterday received a telegram announcing the death of her father, Hugh B. Wilson, at Greenfield. The funeral will occur in this city and the burial will take place at Oak Hill by the side of two children.
Hugh Boal Wilson was born in Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio, and was eighty seven years of age last month. When quite a young man he came to this place and settled on Black Creek, three and a half miles north of the city. He was a very devoted member of the Presbyterian Church and in 1838 when Center Church was organized; Mr. Wilson was one of the active members of the board of organization and was selected as one of the first elders. He continued in this church office for some years and resigned when he removed to Cincinnati. After a two years’ residence in Cincinnati he removed to Anderson and from that place to Greenfield where he continued to reside until the time of his death.
He leaves a widow, now in her eighty third year, and five children: Mrs. George R. Brown of this city, Miss Sue Wilson, Miss Maria F. Wilson of Greenfield, Mrs. H. F. Spencer of Sandusky, Ohio, Mrs. J. A. Riley of Los Angeles, California. W. P. Wilson and Mrs. H. F. Spencer were with him at the time of his death and with their mother and the Misses Wilson will attend the funeral here. His sister, Mrs. Mary Harris, of Rockville, will also attend.  Mr. Wilson was greatly respected by all who knew him.
- thanks to S for both of these
