WINGATE — Harry Stephen Wilson, 71, Wingate farmer and a former member of the Culver Hospital Board of Trustees, died at Home Hospital in Lafayette at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. He had been hospitalized for two weeks and seriously ill four weeks prior to his death. Mr. Wilson resided on his farm two miles southeast of Wingate for the past 48 years. For 12 years, he had served as a member of the Culver Hospital Board of Trustees. He was a member of the Wingate Methodist Church and a member of the Wingate Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley in Indianapolis. Born Dec. 21, 1892, in Jackson Township, Tippecanoe County, Mr. Wilson was the son of John and Leah Micklin Wilson. He attended schools in Wingate and Sugar Grove. On Sept. 28, 1916, he married Bessie Tomlinson in Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Survivors include the widow; two sons, John Morton of Rt. 1, Wingate and Paul E. of Rt. 4, Crawfordsville; two daughters, Mrs. James Grenard of Rt. 4, Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Lester Grenard of Rt. 2, Crawfordsville; 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Other survivors include two brothers, Glenn D. of Lafayette and Edgar E. of Wingate, and two sisters, Flora Wilson and Julia Wilson, both of Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. Rev. Rob R. James of the Wingate Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Waynetown Cemetery. Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.
