After waiting for five days the family became convinced of the death of Daisy WIlson and she was buried Monday. A post mortem was first held by Drs. Hutchings, Ristine and Rankin. It was found that an abcess had formed and that all of the left lung and part of the right was gone. Decomposion set in probably Saturday night. Dr. Hutchings, who had charge of the case, said that there was nothing to excite special attention in the appearance of the corpse after death except the lips were red andthat rigor mortis was absent, the body being rigid at first and afterward relaxing - kbz - WEIRD

Crawfordsville, Feb 9 – the body of Miss Wilson was buried today it having been fully demonstrated that she was dead. A doctor opened several veins and as no blood came out he was positive that she was dead. Yet the case has been a remarkable one from the fact that she appeared to be asleep and the muscles not rigid. A post mortem examination was made and it was evident that she had been dead all the time, and her remarkable appearance is what deceived the people.
