Crawfordsville – Services for Dr. Caster E Wilson, 78, a former Crawfordsville optometrist and city councilman were today. Dr. Wilson, a native of Montgomery County and a resident of Boynton Beach, Florida died Friday in a Boynton Beach Hospital. A graduate of Wabash College and Southern College of Optometry at Memphis, Tenn, he had practiced optometry in Crawfordsville from 1937 until retiring in 1965. He was elected a city councilman at large in 1959. He served as chairman of the Montgomery County Heart Fund in 1964 and 1965. Dr. Wilson was a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and former board member of the Indiana Optometric Association. He was a member and elder of the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church. He was a moderator of the Crawfordsville Presbytery and Vice Moderator of the synod of Indiana. An Army veteran of WWII, Dr. Wilson was a Century Club member of the American Legion. He also was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Survivors are his wife, Dorothy, daughters Susan Hall and Marilyn Schneider. - kz
