Hershel M. Wilson, 84, of 814 S. Water St., died at 3:25 a.m. today in the Ben Hur Nursing Home. Mr. Wilson was a retired farmer and state highway employee. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren, near Linden, and a veteran of World War I. He attended Montgomery County schools. Born Jan. 29, 1894, in Montgomery County, he was a son of Jasper Newton and Cynthia J. Meeks Wilson. He was first married to Sarah W. Wise. She died in 1955. He then married Minnie F. Scott on April 7, 1965. She survives. Also surviving are a stepson, Paul Scott of Roachdale; two brothers, Paul and Joe Wilson of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. May Pritichett and Mrs. Agnes Farmer of Crawfordsville; 5 stepgrandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild. Seven brothers and a sister are deceased. Services are scheduled at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Powers Funeral Home here with the Rev. Stanley Gerboth officiating. Burial will be in Brick Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday. – jlr
