Wilson - Rebecca

Source: Waveland Independent newspaper, Waveland, Montgomery County, Indiana, September 13, 1906

The body of Mrs. Rebecca Wilson was found in Raccoon Creek,   near Sutherlin Springs. A ginseng digger accidentally discovered   it. A number of rocks and two horseshoes were found tied up in   her apron, which lends colors to the theory that she committed   suicide. She has been lost since the Friday before, when she left   the family group at the home of her son, John Wilson, supposedly   to go to bed. It seems that she was offended at something her   daughter-in-law said to her, and in pique, ended her life. The   place where the body was found was on the road to the home of a   daughter, Mrs. Everman, and the bank of the creek was very   slippery at that point, so that she might have fallen   accidentally. - transcribed by kbz
