Mirt C. Wilshire, 86, died Sunday evening at his home here. He had been seriously ill since last Thursday. He was born in Waveland January 1, 1878 to Joseph and Mary Davis Wilshire. He was married there March 30, 1905 to Melvinia Strode, who survives. Most of his life was spent in the Waveland community where until he retired he operated a service station for years had been a fence builder. He attended the Browns Valley Baptist Church. Surviving besides the wife are two sons, Harry and George of Indianapolis, four daughters, Mrs. Earl Gibson of Moore Haven, Fla; Mrs. Gerald Zachary of New Ross, Mrs. Artia Belle Zachary of Bloomington and Mrs. Franklin Johnson of New Market and 22 grandchildren, 26 great grandch. and several nieces. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Wed at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home in Waveland where friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. John Servies will officiate and burial will be in Old Union Cemetery. - transcribed by kbz
