New Ross,. March 25 - This morning Phillip Bruch received a telegram from W.E. Stanley, Walkerville, Mich., that "Uncle" Zach Williams is dead and that the body will arrive here at two thirty this afternoon. Later another telegram came to the same party sent from Michigan City, that the funeral would be Thursday morning at ten. The body will be taken to the home of Marion Stoner, where it may be seen by friends. The funeral will be at the I.O.O.F. cemetery. "Uncle" Zack Williams was born in Kentucky, January, 1831, and had just passed his 83rd birthday. He came to this state when a mere boy and except for a very few years he has been a continuous resident of Walnut township. He was a charter member of New Ross Lodge 397 I.O.O.F. and was a member at the time of his death. A few years ago he went to Michigan. He and his wife lived with Walter Stanley, a grandson. He was "Uncle" Zack to everybody here and is perhaps the last of the older generation of this branch of the Williams family. He was for many years a member of the Christian church of this place.
Thanks so much to Kim H. for this and a lot of the old obituaries - thanks thanks thanks, Kim :) kz
