Ill for some time, Kenneth Dean Williams, 68, Gosport RR 1, died at 6:30 pm Thursday Oct 12, 1989 at Morgan County Memorial Hospital. The son of Virgil Lee and Bonnie Shobe Williams, he was born Sept 3, 1921 in Wingate. On Aug 19, 1978 in Gosport, he married Dorothy Roe and she survives. Other survivors include two sons, Kenneth Lee Williams, Indianapolis and Troy Dean Williams, Danville; two daughters, Eileen Marie Waye, Crawfordsville and April Dawn William, Danville; a stepmother, Irene Williams, Waynetown; three grandchildren and one great grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Williams was a graduate of Wingate HS and for 21 years was a Lt. with the Crawfordsville police, retired. He owned and operated the Williams Studio in Crawfordsville and was photographer for Outdoor Indiana Magazine for five years. He served as a deputy sheriff of Montgomery County and retired in 1986 as a guard at the Putnamville Penal Farm. He was a member of the Crawfordsville American Legion, Gosport Veterans of Foreign Wars and served in the US Army Air Force during WWII. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hunt & Son Funeral Chapel in Crawfordsville with Rev. Samuel Dale Peck officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery at Wingate.
