Word was received Monday of the sudden death of Mrs. Jewell Williams, 67 of Indianapolis, a former resident of Hillsboro. Mrs. Williams the widow of Frank Williams died in an Indianapolis hospital Saturday night from shock which affected her heart following an automobile accident on the national road near Plainfield Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Margaret White, 32 of Indianapolis were returning home from Terre Haute where they had been visiting friends when their car was struck head-on by a large roadster. The women were thrown to the pavement, Mrs. Williams suffering a fractured right leg and left collar bone besides shock and Mrs. White was bruised. At the time of the death of her husband, Frank Williams, 12 years ago they were residing in Crawfordsville, Mrs. Williams later moving to Indianapolis. She was born near Crawfordsville, June 26, 1864 the daughter of Harvey and Mary Jane Pruitt. She was married to Frank Williams in 1900. Two sisters and one brother survive. The funeral services were held from the Hunt & Ratcliff funeral parlors in Crawfordsville Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Mrs. Lena Sandell, a sister-in-law of the deceased, Mrs. Lizzie Carter and Mrs. Mary Graves all of Hillsboro attended the funeral. - kbz
