Williams - James Merle

James Merle Williams, 57, of Indianapolis died Thursday at his home after sustaining a heart attack. He has a number of relatives residing in Montgomery County. Williams was employed as a dispatcher for a trucking firm at Indianapolis for 25 years. A veteran of World War II, he served in Germany for five years. He was the son of Montie and Ethel Williams, both of whom are deceased. Survivors include the widow, Juanita; a son, Jimmy Williams of Whiteland; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Carpenter of Darlington and Mrs. Charlotte Worth of Zionsville; a brother, Donald L. Williams of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Cox and Mrs. Rosie Cope, both of Crawfordsville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Stevens Chapel of Flowers at Speedway. Burial will be at Indianapolis. Friends may call at the Stevens Funeral Home. – jlr
