Harold (Pork) Williams, 69, longtime resident of Crawfordsville, died suddenly at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday at his home at 711 S. Water St. Death was attributed to a coronary occlusion. Mr. Williams was employed with the MidStates Steel & Wire Co from 1930 to 1963 when he retired. He had lived in the community since 1930. He had previously lived in Kokomo where he had been employed with Continental Steel Co there. Mr. Williams was an Army veteran of WWI. He was a member of the Byron Cox American Legion Post and active in the Legion 40 & 8 organization. Born May 26, 1896, in Holland, Mich, he was the son of Edward and Jeanette Sears Williams. He married Pearl Barrett on July 22, 1930. Survivors include the widow, two sisters, Mrs. Opal Schwierman of Kokomo and Mrs. Celia Rood of Buffalo NY and a niece, Mary Lee Puckett. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Rev. Howard F. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery at Windfall, Ind. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday. – kbz
