Earl Lamont (Monty) Williams, 73, formerly of 205 W. Chestnut St., died at Small's Nursing Home in Waynetown at 11 a.m. Friday. He had been there a year. He was born Aug. 15, 1890, at Marshfield, Ind., to James Merle and Dora Wagnor Williams. He was married to Ethel Stevens at Marshfield, where they lived for a time. He was educated in the Marshfield schools and was a railroad employe there. He later moved to Montgomery County and became a farmer. Mr. Williams was last employed by Robert McClamroch north of Crawfordsville. He was a member of the Redmen Lodge. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Marvin Cox and Mrs. Harold Cope here; two sons, James Merle Williams of Indianapolis and Donald L. Williams of here; a sister, Mrs. Clara Ping of Perrysville; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, two brothers and a grandson. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bright Funeral Home. The Rev. Ford Porter of Berean Gospel Temple in Indianapolis will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Sunday.
