Waynetown - Clayton Williams, 77, of 204 N. market St, Waynetown died at 4:50 a.m. today in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. He was admitted to the hospital Thursday. Mr. Williams retired in 1969 from the Waynetown Tile Co. He lived at Waynetown all his life and attended Waynetown schools. He was a former member of the Waynetown IOOF. Born Dec 21, 1903 at Waynetown he was a son of Fred and Maggie Elmore Williams. He was married to Ruth Springer on June 14, 1924. She died June 24, 1979.
Surviving are a son, Bill of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Mrs. Merle (Nina) Miles and Mrs. Hershall (Faye) Conner of Waynetown; a brother, Charles of Crawfordsville; a sister, Mrs. Mabel McNeely of Crawfordsville; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
A daughter, Ruby Patton, three brothers and a sister are deceased. Services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Monday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with the Rev. Gilbert Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday.
