Source: Waveland Independent, 28 Jan 1910
Mrs. Rebecca Wilkinson died very suddenly on Friday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eva Pitts, near Brownsvalley. She was in her usual health and laughing and talking, when heart failure carried her off as she was sitting in a chair. The funeral services were held at the home on Sunday at eleven with Revs. J. A. Oliphant and M. M. Canine. Interment at Indian Creek. Rebecca, daughter of Robert and Sarah Jones Foster, was born July 25, 1841 and died January 21. She married Robert Lydick, in Sept., 1864, who died September 9, 1871. Of the two children, Charles A. survives. She married Israel Wilkinson, September 17, 1873. Mr. Wilkinson died August 30, 1908. Their three children, Oliver, Mrs. Eva Pitts and Frank are all living. Mrs. Wilkinson was a sister of Thomas and Henry Foster and Mrs. J. J. Canine. A friend writes: "Aunt Rebecca, as we all loved to call her, united with the Primitive Baptist Church at Old Union in 1888, and lived her profession with all meekness and humbleness of heart; loyal to her Saviour and faithful to her church; in all things sacrificing herself and her means that the Lord might be glorified."
