Wilkinson - Ellen
Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal Friday, 18 March 1898
Ellen Wilkinson, wife of Ollie Wilkinson, was born Dec. 15, 1877, and died March 12, 1898, of heart disease, aged 21 years, 3 months and 25 days. She was an intense sufferer during her last sickness, which lasted about two weeks, and on Saturday night at 11 o’clock the spirit took its flight to the better land.
She leaves a mother, two brothers, a loving husband and four sisters besides a host of friends and relatives to mourn her loss.
She joined the Missionary Baptist Church at Waveland in 1894. She was a good Christian worker. Although we shall miss the kind face and loving smile of Sister Wilkinson let us look up to the omnipotent one who doeth all things well, and trust that some day not far away we may meet her on the other side of the river of death, where no sorrow ever comes, neither singing or crying, and may we say they will, not ours, be done.
The funeral was conducted Monday, March 14, at the Brown’s Valley Church, by Rev. Cuppy, of Waveland, and Rev. Jaynes, of this place, after which a large concourse of relatives and friends followed the remains to the Indian Creek Cemetery, where they were laid to rest. - thanks to S for all her great typing
