As reported last week Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilkins met with a fatal accident at Danville, Ill. There were no eyewitnesses, so the cause of the accident is not known. Mr. Wilkins was thrown clear of the car. He had both legs broken and was injured about the head and body. He lived until 8:15 next morning and recognized his son, Ralph, before he died. Mrs. Wilkins never regained consciousness and died an hour after the accident. Funeral services here on Saturday morning were in charge of Rev. C.B. Stanforth, with Masonic ceremonies at Presbyterian Cemetery. Mr. Wilkins was born at Delphi, Sept 8, 1861. He was a member of the Congregational Church and Masonic Lodge. He was married in 1882. Mrs. Ida Ford Wilkins was born in Marysville, Ohio. They are survived by one son, Ralph of Harvey, Ill. During their stay here on the Russell farm, south of town, Mr. and Mrs. Wilkins made many friends. Mr. Wilkins was a skilled machinest and the high wages after the war induced him to return to that work, but every time he visited in Waveland he would say that in a few more months he was coming back to his farm, as that was "HOME".
