Waynetown -- Paul E. Williams, 71, a resident for several years of the Indiana Soldier's Home, Lafayette died at 3 a.m. Wednesday in Ross Annex. A long time employee and former section foreman for the Penn Central RR he was born Jan 1, 1899, in Crawfordsville, the son of Fred and Margaret Elmore WIlliams. He married Amy Maxwell Oct 31, 1921. Mr. Williams attended Waynetown HS and served in France during WWI. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Janet Bear of Lebanon, three brothers, Charles of Crawfordsville, Clayton of Waynetown, Warner of Danville, Ill, one sister, Mrs. Mabel McNeeley of Crawfordsville, 3 granchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Jr. Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday in Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Guy E. Tremaine officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Friday.
