Whittington - Susan Todd

Mrs. Susie Mae Whittington, 87 years old died of cerebral thrombosis Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Mary Frame in Indianapolis. She had been in failing health for six years and in serious condition for the past week. Mrs. Whittington was a resident of Montgomery County all of her life except for the past 3 years which she spent in the West. She was well known to the Waveland people as a helpful, congenial neighbor. She was a member of the Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church. She was born in Montgomery County, May 1, 1866 the daughter of James C. and Sarah Frances Todd. She married Sherman G. Whittington on June 19, 1889 in this county. Preceding her in death were the husband in 1906 and two brothers and sisters. Survivors are a son, Fred E, a daughter, Mrs. Everett Paxton, also of Crawfordsville, two sisters, Mrs. Sophia Carter of Spencer and Mrs. Harriet Buckel of Rapid City, MI, two brothers, Robert Todd of Logansport and Joseph Todd of Waveland, one aunt, Mrs. Mary Williams of Crawfordsville, six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:30 p.m. CDT at the Indian Creek Baptist Church by Rev SS Fisher. Friends may pay their respects at the Machledt Funeral Home from 7:00 p.m. Wednesday until noon Friday. Burial will be in Indian Creek. Cemetery. - typed by kbz
