NEWTOWN, Ind. (CNS) — James A. Whitinger, 95, of Newtown, died at 2:55 a.m. today (April 21, 1976) at Woodland Manor Nursing Center in Attica. He had been a patient three years. Born in Michigan, Feb. 22, 1881, he was the son of J. A. and Elmira Shull Whitinger. On April 27, 1940, he married Emma Hinton in Wingate, who died in 1966. Mr. Whitinger was a Newtown area resident for the past 35 years and retired as engineer for the powerhouse at Harrison Steel Casting Co. in Attica after 30 years there. He was a member of the Attica Christian Church. Survivors include three stepdaughters, Mrs. Lowell (Velma) Byers of West Point Route 1, Mrs. Mark (Oleta) Crouse of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Bill (Mary) Burns of Sarasota, Fla.; a half-sister, Mrs. Merle Eggers of Crawfordsville; and a nephew, Robert Jenkins of Crawfordsville. Services will be at 10:30 a. m. EST Friday at the Dale Maus Funeral Home, with the Rev. Don Green officiating. Burial will be in the New Richmond cemetery. Friends will be received from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. --typed by Walt W
