Whitecotton - John Leslie

John Leslie Whitecotton, 54, an employee of RR Donnelley & Sons Company for 37 years died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Culver Hospital. He had been critically ill since March 11 when he suffered a coronary occlusion. Born July 29, 1901, in Montgomery County, Mr. Whitecotton was the son of Thomas and Ivy Swisher Whitecotton. He was married twice, first to Mary Estes, who preceded him in death. His second marriage was to Evelyn Meek Warre Aug 24, 1945. Mr. Whitecotton attended Linden school. He was a member of the First Christian Church and Montgomery Masonic Lodge No 56. Surviving are the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Ann Whitecotton of Lafayette; a stepdaughter, Mary Warren; a stepson, Robert Warren; a half brother, Ralph Simms, Crawfordsville businessman and a granddaughter. The body was taken to Proffitt & Sons Funeral Home. Arrangements for the service are incomplete. - kbz
