Samuel Roscoe White, 677, 713 Kentucky St a resident of Montgomery County since he was 10, died early Tuesday morning at his home. Born Dec 6, 1894 in Glasgow KY his parents were Jasper and Dorothy Miller White. On June 2, 1917, he married Anna Belle Smith in Crawfordsville. He came to Montgomery Co in 1904 and was raised near Darlington. He attended Montgomery Co schools and worked on a farm, the aluminum plant in Lafayette, the brick yard and finally at MidStates for 16 years. He retired in 1959. A member of the Methodist CHurch and the American Legion, he was a veteran of WWI. Survivors include his widow; five sons: Robert, Charles, Donald, William and James of Crawfordsville; 4 daughters, Mrs. Robert Stark of Crawfordsville; Mrs. William Steele, Chicago; Mrs. Barbara Thomas and Mrs. Paul Landis of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Mary McNeeley and Mrs. Bertha Carder of Lafayette 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and sister, Beulah. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Bright Funeral Home with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Rev.
