Alamo - Prudence (Prudy) White, 87, of Alamo, died at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday in the Small Rest Home at Waynetown. She had been seriously ill for three days and had been in the rest home since Nov. 4. She was born June 9, 1875, near Roachdale, daughter of Roger D. and Harriet Ballard Jefferies. She was married twice. First in 1898, to Aaron Walters, who died in December of 1929, and to Will White in 1935, who died in 1952. Mrs. White was a member of the Alamo Christian Church and had lived in Alamo all of her life. She attended school in Alamo. Survivors include two sons, Emery Walters, Kokomo, and Wallace Walters, Spencer; four grandchildren, Billy Joe Walters, and Jeffery, Michael and Sharon Walters; a step-granddaughter, Loretta Misch, Crawfordsville; a step-grandson, Michael Lemonds, Kokomo; four great-grandchildren and a number of great-great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Iva Hallett of Alamo, also survives. Also surviving is a stepson, Fred White, of Terre Haute. She was preceded in death by a stepson, George Walters; a brother, Charles Jeffries, and two sisters, Patience and Irene Jefferies. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Servies Funeral Home at Waynetown. Rev. John R. Servies will officiate. Burial will be in the Sparks Cemetery south of Alamo. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday. - kbz
