Miss Emma C. White, daughter of William S. and Amy White, died at the home of her parents two and one half miles east of New Market, on Wednesday, the 12th inst., aged 29 years. She was the youngest of twelve children, and has been in failing health for several years. About nine years ago she fell from a hay mow which resulted in a weakened spine. Afterwards she was thrown from a buggy which increased her affliction. She made all the necessary preparations for death, even to the construction of a vault in Oak Hill Cemetery for her final resting place. In 1886 she united with the Methodist Church under the ministrations of Rev. L. S. Buckles, then the pastor of Waveland Circuit and became a thorough and sincere Christian. She died in full faith of a blessed immorality. The funeral services were held yesterday at 10 o’clock and were conducted by Mr. Buckles, her former pastor.
