Hillsboro - Mrs. Ossie Whitaker, 84, who had lived in and around the Hillsboro and Wingate communities all her life died Saturday evening in Culver Hospital. She was a member of Liberty Chapel Church and attended schools in Wayne Township. She was born Nov 2, 1888, in Montgomery County the daughter of Charles and Dolly Biddle Swank. She married Ora Whitaker Hillsboro July 24, 1905. He preceded her in death in December 1964. Surviving are two sons, Herman, Waynetown and Bill Zionsville, two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Mattingly and Mrs. Don (Edith) McDonald, both of Crawfordsville; 9 grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Lawson, Detroit; two daughters, Mary Alice Ratcliff, Kingman and Pauline Whitaker who died in childhood; two sisters and a brother. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Paul Dunham officiating. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery,.
