Waynetown - Mildred A. Whitaker, 83 of Waynetown died Friday morning in her home. A homemaker, she had worked for a short time as a telephone operator at Linden before marrying. She was a graduate of New Richmond High School. Mrs. Whitaker was a member of Waynetown Christian Church. She was a 62-year-member of the former Waynetown Order of Eastern Star and past worthy matron. She was a member of the Alamo Order of Eastern Star 498. She was born July 30, 1909 at New Richmond, the daughter of Stanley and Mary Ann Tood Norman. She married Herman E. Whitaker on Aug 16, 1930. He preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Charles Norman of Seattle, Wash; one sister, Mrs. Eula Mason of New Richmond and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday in Cramer-Shoemaker Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Ed Maurer officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Calling is from 3-8 p.m. Saturday.
