Whisler - Emma Fogelman Sigler

Emma Whisler, 92, of 316 S. Main St., Veedersburg, died Saturday evening in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill., where she had been a patient since Aug. 28. Mrs. Whisler was a member of the First Christian Church here and of Prairie Chapel Ladies Aid. A native of Parke County, she was a daughter of Murphy and Samantha Little Fogleman and was born March 11, 1882. She married Charles Sigler here in 1903. He is deceased. In 1962, she married Frank Whisler who survives. Also surviving are a son, Harold of Veedersburg; six daughters, Mrs. Lola Wakeland, Mrs. Waneta Philpot and Mrs. Alberta Richey of Veedersburg, Mrs. Ruby Wise of Perrysville and Mrs. Madeline Hall of Covington; a brother, Chancy Fogleman of Veedersburg, and 19 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren and four great-great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Fishero-Dickerson Funeral Home here, with the Rev. Charles Wood officiating and burial in Rockfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. – jlr
