CLARKS HILL – Ward Cecil Wheeler, 63, of Clarks Hill, died in Home Hospital, Lafayette, at 11 p.m. Tuesday. In failing health two years, he was a patient in the hospital 12 days. Born at Windsor, N.D., he lived in Clarks Hill 26 years and before that at Linden and was a retired Nickel Plate Railroad section crew worker. He was married to Evelyn Simmons in Lafayette in 1924 and was a member of the old Christian Church at Linden. Surviving with the widow are four sons, Max, Marvin, Jerry and Melvin, all of Clarks Hill; three daughters, Mrs. Betty Jenkins and Mrs. Patty Lockard of Lafayette and Mrs. Shirley Robertson of Clarks Hill; his mother, Mrs. Florence Campbell, and a brother, Wilson, both of Greencastle. – jlr
