Ruth Crawly Wheeler, the six-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Wheeler, died shortly before six o'clock Monday morning, April 8; death being the result of chronic pneumonia from which the child had suffered for almost a year, being able to bo about. the house nearly every day and was indeed able to leave her bed only the day previous to her death. The funeral occurred yesterday morning at 10 o'clock from the home, the funeral being private. Interment was made in the Now Richmond cemetery. Another child, Lillie May, who has been sick for only a little more than a week from scarlet rash and gastritis, has been at the point of death ever since the death of the other child and little hopes of its recovery are entertained. Mrs. Wheeler, the mother, too has boon very ill for several days and is but barely able to bo up and about the sadly afflicted home. All has been done that was possible by the neighbors who might dare to brave the possibilities of contagion. The family have the deepest sympathy of the community in their dark hour.

In another column – Following the death of their daughter, Ruth, the friends of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Wheeler made up a purse to lend towards the needs of their afflicted family. The Ladies Aid Society of the Methodist Church furnished the shroud for the burial of the little one.

We gave mention last week of the death of little Ruth Wheeler on Tuesday and of the serious illness of little Lillie May, Milton Wheeler’s little three-year-old child, and the sad and serious affliction of that home. Lillie May died at 2 o’clock on Thursday morning from an affliction diagnosed at first as nettle rash, not scarlet rash as we erroneously stated last week, subsequently gastritis from which the child died after groat suffering. The little one was buried in the New Richmond cemetery on Thursday afternoon, and though there was not deemed by the doctor to have been any contagion precautions wore taken for fear there might be and a private funeral was held at the home. Their baby has been suffering with a very bad cold and Mrs. Wheeler has been down sick but both are better now. Mr. Wheeler's home has been a sadly afflicted one indeed.
