Kenneth Stanley Whalen, 57, died Friday at 10 p.m. in Culver Hospital. He had been in failing health for a year. Mr. Whalen owned the Crawfordsville Cleaners. He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and a member of the Eagles. Born in Bradley, Ill., on Dec. 23, 1906, his parents were Walter W. and Edna McVay Whalen. He was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School. In 1928 he married Willa Mildred Hamm. Survivors include two sons, Edward Whalen of Plainfield and Donald Whalen of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. Joan Gray of New Ross and five grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Robert Whalen, of Crawfordsville and W. Keith Whalen of Waynetown, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home. The services will be conducted by Rev. Bennett Fulp of the Evangelical United Brethren Church. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
