Whalen - Edward Allen

Edward Allen Whalen, 28, Sugar Creek Manor Apt. N, died Thursday in Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis, following an accident Aug. 19 at Modern Farm Systems, where he was employed in the maintenance department. Mr. Whalen was a member of Assembly of God. He was born July 17, 1950, at Terre Haute, a son of Clarence Jr. and Katherine Elkins Whalen. He was married September 1972 to Debra L. Rusk, who survives. Other survivors are a son, Jonathan, at home; two daughters, Amy Dawn and Lora Michalle, at home; four brothers, Robert, John and Larry, all of Rockville, and Clarence “Sonny” III of Crawfordsville; five sisters, Evelyn Harris of Paris, Ill., Barbara Risner of Veedersburg, Debbie Sexton of Crawfordsville, Diana Logsden of Lafayette, and Danita Whalen of Rockville; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Whalen Jr. of Rt. 1, Rockville; paternal grandfather, Clarence Whalen Sr. of Rockville; and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Myrtle Kiger of Rockville. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Powers Funeral Home, with Rev. Randy Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Saturday. – jlr
