On Tuesday night Ernest White was notified that his father, S.T. White had been killed by a Nickel Plate train striking the car in which he was riding on a crossing near Dayton, 7 miles southeast of Lafayette. Mr. and Mrs. John Sites, who were with him, were also killed. Mr. White had been buying timber near Dayton and Sites had been working for him. A watch found near the scene of the accident stopped at 9:15. Mr. White was generally known as Dora. he lived here a number of years in the West end of town and later in the house now owned by Owen Moore. he moved from here to Russellville, where his wife, who was a sister of Mort Yount, died several years ago. At the time of his death he was making his home with his son, Ernest on the "Bank" farm south of Waveland which he owned. The body was taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Grace Harbeson near Russellville. Funeral services will be conducted by rev. F.J. Beisel at the Federal Church at two on Friday afternoon. - transcribed by kbz
