Waynetown, Dec 29 -- Christopher Columbus Westfall, 87, director of the Waynetown State Bank and one of the best known residents in this community died of heart seizure Tuesday night in Indianapolis at the home of a son, T.H. Westfall, 2306 Central Avenue, with whom he had been visiting during the holidays. Although in failing health five years, death came unexpectedly. Born Sept. 24, 1856, on a farm 4 miles north of Waynetown the son of George and Martha Houser Westfall, he was married Nov 7 1880 to Beatrice May Hendricks who survives. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A leader in church and community affairs, Mr. Westfall was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church, Masonic K of P and Odd Fellows Lodges. The body of Mr. Westfall was brought to the Grenard & Service Funeral Home here Wednesday evening with the body of a stillborn granddaughter Bernice, who was born Tuesday in ? section at the Methodist ? in Indianapolis to Mr. and Mrs. T.H. Westfall. Burial of the stillborn babe took place Wednesday afternoon at the Masonic Cemetery.
