Crawfordsville – Capt. Martin V. Wert, 87, elected mayor of Crawfordsville in 1909 and serving four years died at Culver Union Hospital here Sunday evening after being ill for 18 months. He was a native of Fountain County and served as a captain in the Spanish-American war. Surviving are the widow and two sons, Albert and Arthur B. Wert. – kbz
