Wendall - Alonzo

Alonzo Wendall, 75, long time New Market and Waveland area resident died Monday April 12, 1965 at 10:30 p.m. at the Rockville State Hospital. He had been in poor health for the past year. Mr. Wendall was a farmer and carpenter all his life; his home was in Waveland at the time of his death. Born July 10, 1889, in Parke County, he was the son of Henry and Julia Hendricks Wendall. He was first married to Halcey Clore. She preceded him in death. He was next married to Verna Stump; she is also deceased. Four sisters preceded him in death. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Betty Smith of near New Market and Mrs. Helen McKee of Wallace; five grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Belle Glick of Paris, Ill; Opal Hurst of Crispin, Ill and Ella Wallage of Marysville, California and a brother, William Wendall of Stone Bluff. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m Thursday at Noble Reeves Funeral home, New Market; burial in Lutheran Cemetery, near Wallace. --kbz
