Prof. I. M. Wellington received a telegram from Chicago this morning announcing the death of his son, Charles. The deceased was taken down with typhoid fever some days ago and his sister Mae went up to attend him. The reports were encouraging all along but last night he took a change for the worse and died this morning. Prof. Wellington went to Chicago this afternoon and he and Miss Mae will accompany the remains to Fryeburg, Maine, where the interment will occur in the family burying ground.
Charles Wellington was 23 years old and a very promising young man. He was an assistant in Dr. Pratt’s sanitarium and was recognized as one possessed of marked ability. He had frequently visited in Crawfordsville and last year was here several months, forming many warm friendships. His death is a most lamentable one.
