James WELCH, who has been seriously ill for more than 3 months died in Culver Hospital Tuesday afternoon. He was reported dead twice on Monday. His malady was diagnosed as Rocky Mountain or spotted fever, a rare disease in this part of the country, where the few cases reported are supposed to have been carried by ticks on the feeder lambs brought here form Montana. He was delirious almost from the onset of the attack and suffered greatly. He was born Aug 4, 1888 and lived all his life at Bluff Mills and was the son of Michael and Elen Kelly Welch. He married a Miss Faye Glascock of Wallacein 1909 His mother is still living at Bluff Mills. He is survived by the wife and one daughter, Mrs. Robert Jones of Crawfordsville and a sister, Mrs. Stpehen Deer of Browns Valley. He was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church. Funeral services at Phanuel Lutheran Church near Wallace at 10:30 this morning were in charge of Rev. John Servies of Crawfordsville. -- kbz
