Saloma Ann Weir was born Oct. 8, 1845, died Feb. 5, 1901, aged 55 years, 3 months and 27 days. She was married to Alexander Weir, August 8, 1868. To them were born ten children, six of which survive her, and with many friends are made to mourn her loss as a mother, a neighbor and a friend. She joined the United Brethren church in the winter of 1894 and lived a faithful Christian life ever since. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Z. Dixon, of Waynetown, at the Union Chapel church known as Balhinge. The remains were taken to the cemetery east of Alamo and laid to rest.

There were two deaths on the creek last week. Mrs. Naoma (also went by Saloma) Weir suffered a stroke of paralysis and survived but a few hours. She was buried at the Stonebraker Cemetery. Henry Weir, who has been ill with consumption, died and was buried at the Weir graveyard. He was one of the old settlers.

Mrs. Salome Weir died very suddenly of paralysis Wednesday at one o’clock at her home in Balhinch. She had been sick only a few hours. The funeral occurred Thursday at 11 o’clock.
