Funeral rites were held at the Christian Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock for John WEIR, who passed away Friday night, Aug 22 at the home of his son, Granville Weir, one mile east of Alamo near the Weir homestead where he had spent his entire life. Rev. John Servies officiated and George Walters of Crawfordsville sang His Eye is on the Sparrow; Only a Dream; and In the Upper Garden with Mrs. Agnes Moore also of Crawfordsville accompanying at the piano. Pall bearers were Clarence Payton; Harry Luzader; Leo Thompson; Joel Tucker; Ernest Bannon and Clarence Steele. Flowers were carried by Lyle Smith; Pauline Luzader; Leonard Smith; Martha Lauer; Ralph Luzader; Royce Smith and Hubert Luzader. Burial was made in Stonebraker Cemetery east of Alamo. - kbz
