ELMWOOD, Illinois - Robert Marlen Webster of Elmwood, formerly of Brownsburg, Ind., passed away on Jan. 13, 2010, at Farmington Country Manor, Farmington, IL.
He was born on Dec. 27, 1919, north of Arcola, Ind., to Byron and Jesse Webster. He was the third of five sons. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1942 and became a B-17 pilot. He was a POW in Germany from June 1943 until April 1945.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Doris (nee Brown); children, David (Mitzi) Webster, Kathy (Bob) Shoop, Martha Peebles and Jeff (Jeanie) Webster; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald (Anna) Webster.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Raymond, Budd and Paul; and grandson, Ryan Peebles.
He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Brownsburg, Ind. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at the church. Visitation will from 4 until 8 p.m. at Matthew's Mortuary in Brownsburg.
Local arrangements are by the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood.
