WAYNETOWN- Dale West, 42, suffered a fatal heart attack at 2 a.m. Sunday
while visiting at the home of Don Dazey. He had been in failing health
14 months. Mr. West, a resident of Phoenix, Ariz., had been visiting
here on a two-week vacation. He was to have returned to his home today.
Born Oct. 16, 1921 in Mellott, he was a son of John and Edith McCoy
West. He was married Aug. 3, 1957 to Juanita Allen. They were married at
Crawfordsville. Mr. West was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church
and Crawfordsville VFW. He attended school here and served in the U. S.
Army from Feb. 3, 1945 until Aug. 4, 1946. After his childhood he lived
here and at Crawfordsville until 1960 when he moved to Phoenix.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Mrs. Edith West of Waynetown;
two sons, Jerry and Jackie; two daughter, Janet and Judy; three
stepdaughters, Ouida, Melody and Pamela, all of Phoenix; 10 brothers,
George and James, both of Lafayette, Gerald of Linden, John T., Robert
and Paul, all of Waynetown; Donald of Rosedale, Oscar of Veedersburg and
Max and Alfred, both of Crawfordsville; four sisters, Mrs. Helen
Springer and Mrs. Mary Lewellen, both of Waynetown, Mrs. Maxine Welliver
of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Martha Hutchison of Wingate; two uncles,
three aunts and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be
conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Servies Funeral Home here. Interment
will be in Masonic Cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home
after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
