Mrs. Albert Wert Dies at Capital
Word was received here Tuesday [18 April 1950] of the death of Mrs. Albert E. Wert at her home in Washington D.C. Mrs. Wert, the widow of Albert E. Wert, former Crawfordsville architect, had visited here on a number of occasions. Her husband, the son of the late Capt. M.V. Wert, former Crawfordsville mayor, was an architect in this city several years. Funeral services and burial were in New York.
[Note: The Mrs. Albert Wert who died in DC was a woman named Anna S. whose was born in New York in 1879, the daughter of a Russian immigrant (her father) and a New Yorker (her mother). I searched and searched for her last name, but she was always Anna S. Wert or Mrs. Wert. I presume her maiden name might have been very ethnic and perhaps hard to spell. Louisa Held was Albert E. Wert's first wife, but she died in 1900, Indianapolis. Albert & Louisa had one son, Harold A., who died in Jan 1985 in Orange Co., California, but since his mother was Held, his death information doesn't help find Anna S.'s last name.]
