The lifeless body of William J. WEHR, an old resident of
Clinton County was found by his wife at the foot of a ladder near
the back door of his home, a half mile west of Mulberry Saturday
morning at 10:30 o'clock. The aged man had been on the roof of a
summer kitchen doing some work and Mrs. Wehr was assisting him.
She stepped into the house, leaving her husband on the roof and
when she returned 15 minutes later she was horrified to find his
lifeless body at the foot of the ladder. It was thought at first
Mr. Wehr had fallen from the roof and was killed but there were
no marks on the body indicating injury. The coroner gave it as
his opinion that death was caused by heart trouble, and that Mr.
Wehr was stricken as he reached the ground after coming down the
ladder. He had been smoking a pipe and it was in his mouth when
he was found. Mr. Wehr came to Indiana 65 years ago and his
parents and most of his life was spent in the vicinity of Mulberry.

years. He is survived by the widow and 3 children: Mrs. Louis
Davis and Mrs. Louis Jenkins of Mulberry and Mrs. Emma McClery of
Frankfort, a brother and sister, Levi Wehr and Mrs. Joseph Davis
