NEW RICHMOND — Forrest Waye, 86, of New Richmond died at 6:35 p.m. Monday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette. He had been in failing health for several years. Mr. Waye was a former painter. He retired in 1968. He formerly had resided at Wingate and had been a New Richmond resident since 1902. He was a member of New Richmond Christian Church, where he had been a deacon since 1921 and an elder since 1938. He was born Oct. 31, 1892, near Wingate, a son of S. Jefferson and Mary Grady Waye. He attended Montgomery County schools. On Sept. 3, 1914, he was married to the former Vera Ebrite, who died in 1942. He was then married to the former Maude Lee, who died in 1960. On July 12, 1961, he was married to the former Flossie M. Cox Burroughs, who survives. Other survivors are five sons, Gerald and Melvin Waye, both of Crawfordsville, and Malcom, Charles and Don Waye, all of New Richmond; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Frances) Thayer and Mrs. Albert (Phyllis) Boone, both of New Richmond; 23 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two children, two brothers and two sisters. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Helms & Hahn Funeral Home at Linden with the Rev. Tom Cash officiating. Burial will be in New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home
