Andrew J. Waye, 71 of 260 South Salisbury, West Lafayette died at 3:45 a.m. Thursday in St. Elizabeth where he was a patient five days. He had been in failing health several months. Born at Wingate, he lived in the Lafayette community 25 years and was a retired blacksmith.  He was a veteran of World War I and was married in 1909 to Rose Mae Arnold who died in 1952. Surviving are a son, Robert of Stockwell; four daughters, Mrs. Orville Veach and Mrs. Cleo Hanthorn of Lafayette and Mrs. Orville Slaughterback and Mrs. Othal Slaughterback of R 11; a brother, Forrest of New Richmond; and a sister, Mrs. Ray Mickels (sic) of Crawfordsville.
