Waynetown- William Kirtley (Curt) Watson, 80, a painter in the Crawfordsville and Waynetown areas for 62 years, died at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at his home here after an illness of 3 weeks. A native of Crab Orchard, Ky, Mr. Watson was born Nov 6, 1886, a son of Harvey and Martha Duke Watson. He was educated in Crab Orchard. In Jan 1907 he married Goldie Surber in Crawfordsville. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Darrell Pickett of Ventura, Calif; a granddaughter, Miss Anita M. Pickett, Ventura. He was preceded in death by his wife and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Butler. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Servies Funeral Home by Rev. Guy E. Tremaine. Burial in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. -- kbz

WAYNETOWN – Funeral services for Curt Watson were held at the Servies Funeral Home Friday afternoon. Rev. G. E. Tremaine was the officiating minister and organ music was played by Mrs. Nellie Snyder. Pallbearers, who also assisted with the flowers, were Bill Furr, Russell Holman, Robert Donnelly, V. C. Blackford, Charles Herron and Raymond Shute. Burial was in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. – jlr
