Waterman - Hiram G

Hiram G. Waterman, aged 84 years for more than half a century a resident of this city, where he was held in high esteem and respected by all who knew him was found dead in bed at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Peter Ost, Sunday morning, heart trouble and the infirmities incident of age. Mr. Waterman was born in New York and came west when a young man. In his younger days he was a successful school teacher and he for several years he taught in the schools at Charleston, Ill and was recognized as one among the leading educators. After his marriage he located in Covington where he has since been a continuous resident and for the past several years he and his wife have made their home with the daughter, Mrs. Peter Ost the deceased living a retired life. Besides the widow he is survived by two sons and the daughter. The sons are Homer Waterman of Mellott and Walter Waterman of Danville. The funeral will be conducted from the Ost home, North Fourth Street at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope cemetery. Rev.
