Funeral services were held Saturday, for Florence Wasson, 81, who died Wednesday, at the Raccoon Methodist church. Mrs. Wasson, was born near Whitesville, Indiana, November 4, 1860, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Oliver. She married October 10, 1877, to John C. Wasson, he preceded her in death. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. J.O. Reed of Raccoon, and Mrs. O.V. Gate, Portland, Indiana. Son, Ira W. Wasson preceded her in death also. Florence Mae Wasson, age 81, of near Raccoon, died at Culver Hospital at 5 :30 p.m. Wednesday after she had been taken there four days before suffering from a broken hip. Mrs. Wasson was born near Whitesville, Nov 4, 186 0, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Oliver. She was married to John C. Wasson on October 9, 1877, who preceded her in death. She had resided in the Raccoon Community for 40 years. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Raccoon. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. J.O. Reed of Raccoon; and Mrs. O.V. Gott of Portland, Indiana; one half sister, Mrs. Clara Himes of New Market; and 3 grandchildren and five greats. one son, Ira W. Wasson also preceded her in death. The remains have been taken to the Proffitt & Sons' Funeral Home where friends may call until Friday no on when the body will be taken to the home of Mrs. I.O. Reed in Raccoon. Funeral services will be held in the Raccoon Methodist church at 2 p.m. Saturday with burial at the Masonic Cemetery. --- kbz
